As an instructor, I'm always thinking about how the student can apply what he's learned. I keep thinking about practical application; i.e., how a student can actually use what he's being taught. In addition, there is a plethora of things that go along with playing Music on a long term basis. This is something I keep in mind when teaching. There is more involved than learning notes. There are things that make their appearance whether you expect them or not. To maximize your chances as a Musician, it helps to know about them before they happen.
